1918 Mauser Tankgewehr Gunboards Forums Thought i'd show a few photos of this one. it's not a rare rifle, but definitely a conversation piece and heavy. this one is in the mid range of production and has the two piece elm stock (r= rüster aka elm) generally in good, carried, condition with the purpose built bipod. The decision was made to essentially upscale a mauser 98 and, by january 1918, the first prototype was produced. on the 10th of may 1918, the gun was ready for full production.
