Work Jo Bailey The result was an open source system for making user modifiable, zero waste garments — combining digitally printed patterns with instructions directly applied to the cloth, so that the fabric itself becomes the guide for construction and adaptation. Through encouraging visitors and participants, including novice sewers, to make their own simple but experimental garments, make use hopes to assist others to re evaluate their understanding of making, wearing, modifying and designing clothing. There are four basic modifications possible from the make use crop t shirt print. these are: body volume rotation, armhole volume rotation, sleeve volume rotation, and sleeve taper swap. The make use project centers on the development and testing of an embedded navigational system by which users can formulate a functional understanding of the form and construction of a garment and its opportunities for manipulation.
