Led by sandra liu huang, we bring together world class engineering, deep knowledge of learning science, and strong connections to researchers, educators, and developers. through our partners and products, we’ve developed tools and resources now reaching more than 5 million students. A learning community calls for a group of teachers to work collaboratively, sharing a suite of spaces of varying sizes and characteristics with permeable boundaries and strong outdoor connections wherever possible. Creative kiosks are small, mobile occupiable units that can be nested within large spaces such as learning commons. as mobile units that can also house a variety of resources, creative kiosks make the learning commons more functional and agile. We’re co building with educators to ensure the tools we build reflect real school priorities and not just technical possibilities. in today’s fragmented edtech landscape, schools are often left stitching together tools that don’t always align with curriculum, instruction, and student needs. Using wenger's critical research, the transformation from isolated classrooms to communities of practice is a best practice for schools everywhere. this article demonstrates what can be done to start transforming into more collaborative learning environments.
