Later Pendolino Testing
Early Pendolino Testing Following the long awaited upgrade, by the summer of 2001 alstom’s new class 390 pendolinos were commissioned and tested on the line. during the period between 2001 and early 2006 various serco test trains, mainly network rail monitoring trains, also used the new facility. On 6 may 1994, a pendolino etr 460 train with tilting technology arrived in poland for high speed rail testing. the train consisted of three cars: a motorized head car (460 260), a motorized passenger car (460 007), and a trailer car (460 000).
Early Pendolino Testing While testing between brno and břeclav on 18 november 2004, the pendolino reached a speed of 237 km h (147 mph) and created a new czech railway speed record. during the testing period, the train had problems with the czech signalling system. In the previous instalment of this series, it was all about getting the model moving. it didn't pan out perfectly, but it was a start and a good opportunity to get a look at the model's internals. now i need to figure out a way forward from there. the next step will be to replace the decoder. Speaking about lengthening them, would it be possible to increase the length of the 225's to 11 coaches (loosing about 3 sets in the process), and replacing these sets (and maybe adding additional sets) with pendolino's?. Using this data the ttp calculates when the train has to tilt and by how many degrees. this constant stream of data is passed to the vtp on each vehicle.

The document discusses the pendolino tilting train system. it provides background on the history and development of tilting trains, describing how the pendolino system uses an active tilting mechanism to allow trains to navigate curves at higher speeds while maintaining passenger comfort. In early september 2003 pendolino no: 390031 ' city of edinburgh ' heads south away from widmerpool station past the crossings at 115 mp which connect the two running lines. this view shows the telemetry system and the potentiometer alongside the operating cylinder on the left. The main design parameters of tilting systems focusing the pendolino system, the features of etr600 last generation of pendolino series and the analisys of comfort data resulting from on line tests are presented in the paper.
