This week we launched our 2026 connect@kpmg programme – a key part of our gender action plan supporting women to grow their networks, strengthen their skills, and accelerate their careers. Kpmg has been committed since 2008 to a diversity based action program, specifically targeting gender diversity, in the aim of making gender mix an asset for both its management and development and in building the pathway for women into positions of responsibility. Our gender action plan builds on our existing gender equity programmes with strategic supports aimed at getting more women into senior leadership positions. The plan includes a suite of new lifecycle and family supports for both women and men (including fertility, pregnancy loss, surrogacy, domestic abuse), emergency childcare and additional support. The review adopts a unique entirely voluntary approach, working with business on a significant scale to achieve gender balance. since the start of the review in 2011 there has been a sea change in the gender balance of british boards from 12% women board members in the ftse 100 in 2011 to 40% today.
