The kcac also operates an educational talent search (ets) program in seven jefferson county high schools – seneca, doss, iroquois, prp, western, fairdale, and liberty – promoting college and career readiness for students in grades 9 12. This arrangement provides ktap (kentucky’s transitional assistance program) recipients and snap (supplemental nutrition assistance program) e&t participants in a 56 plus county service area in eastern and southeastern kentucky with employment and training opportunities. The program offers general public transportation across five counties, helping residents get to work, medical appointments, the grocery, and more — all at an affordable rate of just $7 one way for up to 10 miles.

The kentucky works programs (kwp) has provided a bridge to career pathway approach to unsubsidized employment in 34 counties since 2007 by combining time limited subsidized employment with a comprehensive set of services to help participants overcome barriers and build work related skills. This administrative regulation establishes requirements for receiving kentucky works program (kwp) supportive services in accordance with temporary assistance for needy families (tanf) provisions established in 45 c.f.r. 260 265. This program covers heating costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. benefits are paid directly to the energy vendor, and no disconnect notice or past due bill is required to apply.
