Java This Single Pass Wire Frame Shader Opengl Shader Worked On I’m trying to implement the paper “single pass wireframe rendering”, which seems pretty simple, but it’s giving me what i’d expect as far as thick, dark values. the paper didn’t give the exact code to figure out the altitudes, so i did it as i thought fit. So it follows that the vertex shader should have as its input position and color, not only position. and then, the vertex shader passes the color to the fragment shader, and the fragment shader gets run once per pixel. Because the geometry shader can create more geometry than inputted, it requires giving opengl a heads up of how much geometry you might create. you don't necessarily have to create all the vertices you allocate, but it's just a heads up for opengl. Either you’re using the core 3.2 geometry shader feature, or you’re using gl ext geometry shader. you can’t use both, and they don’t expose the functionality in the same way.

I got a pretty good followup in my previous post with how to implement "single pass wireframe rendering". i thought i'd take a second to briefly explain how the edge detection actually worked. I'm trying to make a stylized wireframe shader for a game using this method, but it seems to be conflicting with my character controller. here's some images to better show what's going on: i.sstatic 3hgvr basically, as i look around, some lines will disappear and reappear. I started studying opengl for a month or so and i was able to get some basic decent result, a 3d viewport with loading objs, basic lambert etc. now i wish to implement the single pass wireframe drawing as nvidia explains. In this article, the geometry shader is used to draw the wireframe. it is also explained that one has to set a per vertex attribute to decide if a line should be omitted or not. my question is: how could i decide which lines i have to omit? i use opengl as rendering api by the way.
