To alleviate these limitations, inspired by the success of vision transformers (vit) in a great variety of vision tasks, in this paper, we propose an end to end 3d model retrieval. Our goal is to investigate issues in shape based retrieval and analysis of 3d models. as a first step, we have developed a search engine for 3d polygonal models. the main research issues are to develop effective shape representations and query interfaces. First, an automatic procedure is used to select the most representative views of a 3d model. ideally, one of the viewpoints is similar to that of the query sketches. then, 3d models are projected to 2d planes using a variety of line rendering algorithms. In this work we investigate using dense 3d textured meshes for large scale visual place recognition (vpr) and identify a significant performance drop when using synthetic mesh based databases compared to real world images for retrieval.
