Introducing The Transition Pathways For Sustainable Infrastructure
Introducing The Transition Pathways For Sustainable Infrastructure Today the gi hub has released transition pathways to sustainable infrastructure, a new resource to help governments shape future infrastructure to meet global climate targets and the un sustainable development goals with practical, accessible research and open consultations. Transition pathways for sustainable infrastructure presentation to the ecologiq greener infrastructure conference september 2023.
Sustainable Pathways To Energy Transition In The Carec Region A Through a large scale research effort that examined global approaches to the climate transition and decarbonisation of infrastructure on behalf of the g20, the gi hub has identified 15 strategies (transition pathways) that align infrastructure development and delivery with climate goals and sdgs. Welcome to infrastructure pathways, a resource for practitioners in search of clear, easy to navigate guidance on climate resilient infrastructure, compiled from hundreds of leading resources, and organised by lifecycle phase. From the analysis we prepared for the g20, we distilled 15 broad actions – or transition pathways – that must be taken for infrastructure development and delivery to advance achievement of climate targets and sdgs. Strategies For Sustainable Infrastructure In The Climate Transition From the analysis we prepared for the g20, we distilled 15 broad actions – or transition pathways – that must be taken for infrastructure development and delivery to advance achievement of climate targets and sdgs. From this analysis, we distilled 15 broad actions – or transition pathways – that must be taken for infrastructure development and delivery to advance achievement of climate targets and sdgs. By mapping these economies’ investments to 15 core transition pathways, 12 infrastructure sectors, and 140 infrastructure asset classes, we uncovered the trends that show what infrastructure investments could look like over the next few decades. There are 13 transition pathways allocated to five categories: enabling universal access, low carbon power generation, low carbon infrastructure operation, optimising infrastructure benefits, and minimising infrastructure impacts. As shown in our data, g20 governments are planning to invest in infrastructure that achieves climate targets and sdgs, but there is limited data and knowledge around how to implement these strategies through policies, plans, financing, delivery models, and infratech. This gi hub initiative on transition pathways for sustainable infrastructure seeks to provide actionable data and insights to support governments, their development partners, and advisors to develop strategic infrastructure plans aligned with the climate transition and sdgs.
