Introducing Peer Support Future Pathways Scotland S In Care Support Last year we worked with future pathways, voices for a better future and the scottish recovery network to look at how we might co design peer support for care survivors supported by future pathways. Inspired by imroc’s transformative event, peer support: visions of opportunity for 2030, this report explores the future of peer support through the lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion. In response to feedback, future pathways carried out a co design project to look at developing peer support. taking a collaborative approach they worked alongside people with lived experience using the future pathways services. Peer support can help people feel less alone and more hopeful about the future. it can be good to spend time with people who have been through similar experiences.

Peer Pathways Logo In response to feedback, future pathways carried out a co design project to look at developing peer support. taking a collaborative approach they worked alongside people with lived experience using the future pathways services. Peer support can help people feel less alone and more hopeful about the future. it can be good to spend time with people who have been through similar experiences. There are 4 important parts that all fit together to make peer support happen. 1. treating each other equally. this means no one is more powerful than anyone else. everyone treats each other how they would like to be treated. 2. having the same kinds of lived experience. If you feel that you need extra support after a session, or if it has brought up difficult feelings for you, you can al ays chat to the facilitator after ards. they can point you in the right direction for support such as helplines or local services. Last year we worked with future pathways, voices for a better future and the scottish recovery network to look at how we might co design peer support for care survivors supported by future pathways. if you aren’t familiar with the term care survivors, it refers to people abused or neglected as children in the scottish care system.
