Fairwork Fairwork has developed a set of principles to guide the fair use of ai systems in the workplace. we use these principles to monitor and evaluate the deployment of ai systems in workplaces across the world. New kinds of work require innovations in organising techniques and regulations, and the fairwork foundation provides an important starting point for developing these in practice.
Home Fairwork Project The fairwork foundation will certify online labour platforms, using leverage from workers, consumers, and platforms to improve the welfare and job quality of digital workers. The fairwork project is an international action research project that currently operates in over 20 countries. the project focuses on working conditions in the platform economy, in order to develop ‘fairness ratings’ for digital labour platforms. That all people involved in this kind of work should be afforded some basic work related protections. building on scholarship from the sociology of work and labour geographies, we outline a range of potential responses, and conclude with our own plans to develop a “fairwork foundation”: a project. 5 results from around the world ception, fairwork has produced 673 platform ratings in 39 countries3 on five continents. in doing so, it has interviewed or surveyed over 5,000 workers and talked with doze s of platform managers, making it the largest project worldwide on the platform economy.
