The learning about forests (leaf) programme was initiated in 1999 by the forest in schools programmes in norway, sweden and finland in cooperation with fee and rolled out in 2000. leaf is an international programme coordinated by fee internationally with over 20 countries running it. Leaf brings children closer to nature, providing them with the direct exposure that is essential for their healthy development, physical, and emotional well being. we must empower and educate children to become stewards of the environment.
