Integrated Border Management Budapest Process
Integrated Border Management Budapest Process Founded in 1993 the budapest process is europe’s leading and longest standing dialogue on migration. we have built up a far reaching network among participating and observer states as well as a wide thematic coverage. Over the last almost 30 years, the budapest process (bp) has become recognised by its participating states as an excellent tool for identifying and addressing evolving migration challenges.
Integrated Border Management Budapest Process On 24–26 february 2026, the ministry of interior of hungary hosted a prague process study visit on border management in budapest and bácsalmás, bringing together 38 representatives from 15 participating states. By establishing close cooperation at all three levels, integrated border management seeks to ensure the streamlining of customs and immigration processes, timely sharing of information, reduced waiting periods and an enhanced capacity to detect illicit trans border activities. The meeting sought to provide budapest process partners with an update on developments in this area, specifically in bangladesh, iraq and pakistan – who are also bali process member states – and the opportunity to exchange good practice and lessons learnt. Vienna: we are delighted to announce the launch of a new section on the budapest process website covering integrated border management in the silk routes countries.
