It was a productive day of sharing maritime awareness and imec programs, giving students a glimpse of the opportunities that await them in the maritime industry. Imec is the only international employers’ organisation dedicated to maritime industrial relations, with offices in london and manila, and a membership of over 140 of some of the world’s largest ship owners and managers, covering some 7,500 ships and 185,000 seafarers. The imec cadet training programme is a 4.5 year course which prepares young adults to become marine deck or engineering officers. the course is offered as a full scholarship to all successful candidates, which includes all tuition fees, meals, travel and accommodation. (imec) finds cadet opportunities for filipinos to serve on ships that travel around the world, facilitating smoother global supply chain logistics and more seamless global ocean movement overall.
