Orange Amps Guitar All Things Guitar I’ve sold guitars, pedals and amps that were great and sounded great but didn’t inspire me at all. if i listened to recorded music i couldn’t tell you if the guitar player is using an amp or simulator but for me personally i need an amp. While there’s things i appreciate about both amps, the fact was i was making the point i was intending to make, musically, with either amp and should have been focusing on making more points, not purchases.

But, i will echo robert, the blackstar id:core amps do have their niche. they're very, very versatile but maybe a "jack of all trades, master of none" sort of thing. and, the crate g10, 1990s era marshall practice amps and the line 6 spider series are all dramatically worse than the blackstars. The brightness of vox amps is as much a blessing as it is a curse to me. i personally really enjoy the sound of my ac30 because i find that most other amps get a bit "swampy" when they're overdriving, whereas the vox still keeps its note clarity due to the brightness. Everyone wants to have a 'unique tone', yet idolizes the gear of yesteryear that legends played on. because of this, even great amps and amp designs flew under the radar and died because famous guitarists never used them. conversely, even famous guitarists have made trash gear famous.
