I've been in game dev for 11 years now. my whole career has been in graphics, i started out as a regular 2d artist, now i work as a tech artist and art director, and i hate what i do. I hate game development ?. This is going to get me some hate i feel but i personally don't spend much time watching other rs, and i think you shouldn't do so either, for a wide variety of reasons. Marketing shouldn't be a competition. a game is simply easy to market or not. and it seems like to me that if a game is too hard to market (even by word of mouth) its not worth marketing at all. I really love game development. the workload is extremely varied and i enjoy almost every part of my day. i love design, art, programming, math and business management. that said, it is worthwhile to caution people who want to get into game development. My recent struggles in gamedev have been about map making, 3d modeling, and general texturing work. i hope i can start uploading more often, i want the next hamazon video to be about.
