Hybrid Digital Twin For Virtual Commissioning Virtual Commissioning Abstract: virtual commissioning (vc) and digital twins (dt) are pivotal technologies in the industry 4.0 (i4.0) landscape. however, their integration remains underexplored in the literature. Virtual commissioning with a digital twin is a valuable approach to test and verify software for production systems. it allows engineers to digitally test their software early in the development process to proactively find and fix any issues, long before they receive hardware.
Hybrid Digital Twin For Virtual Commissioning Virtual Commissioning The use of digital twin and virtual commissioning technologies, supported by augmented reality in conjunction with virtual reality, is a useful tool to reduce on site commissioning times, providing a range of technical and human benefits, perceptible to both the plant builders and the end customers. To address this research gap, this study aims to investigate the technological relationships and synergies between vc and dts in the context of i4.0. the results suggest a strong relationship between vc and dts since they share similar technological components, such as the digital model. With a higher level of simulation detail, further questions about the system, such as the effect of control algorithms on the dynamic processes, can be virtually validated. therefore, this paper explores hybrid component based digital twins to combine the advantages of both vc and embs. One possible solution is using digital twins for virtual commissioning, which can speed up engineering processes, qualify employees, and save valuable resources.
