Netzero Hunterjo Hunterregion Hunter Joint Organisation It’s been an exciting few months for net zero in the hunter region! we have kicked off our landfill emissions data management project to address a key data and capacity gap for our. To establish a landfill emission data management program for councils to assist in understanding their baseline landfill emissions, and building a model data management framework and tools to support the collation and interpretation of landfill emission data. By using what we have, we eliminate waste, reduce resource extraction and can reduce emissions. decarbonisation is the process of reducing and eventually eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from human activities, with a focus on industrial activities. Designed by the hunter joint organisation and funded by the nsw environment protection authority, the reuse hunter community map is aimed at keeping items out of landfill. the hunter joint organisation, a collaborative body that brings together ten councils in the region.

The hunter jo and its councils have pledged to undertake several actions including supporting regional collaboration on electric vehicles facilitating a transition to a clean energy future advocating for energy efficiency and emissions reduction and fostering knowledge sharing. Cities power partnership director dr portia odell welcomed the program’s newest members maitland city, dungog shire and singleton councils and the hunter jo. she commended the region for committing to work collectively on clean energy and climate related initiatives. Hunter circular is a cross sector collaboration, led by the hunter joint organisation (hunter jo) on behalf of the councils in the region, with funding support by the nsw government.
