We really don’t have a lot to complain about but we are human so we still complain. the work life balance is unmatched. the benefits and pay are incredible. but like with anything it’s also largely dependent on where you sit and what your role is and how your immediate manager treats you. I would love any advice on how to adjust to the work, any skillsets i should learn, routines to create, or just anything i can do to prepare myself in the corporate world and “adulting”. It’s much harder to get in there because they are much smaller compared to other big tech companies and they hire a lot less (relatively speaking). if you think aws and amazon are cut throat, netflix is worse. they pay very well, but if you don’t perform you will be out fast as well. We do 80% of the work, put in the most hours, and then can’t progress because we don’t have the time to do “proactive briefs” and we burn out because the expectations are ridiculous.
