Our working maremmas, huck, diesel and petra, live on pasture protecting the sheep, chickens and barn cats from coyotes, foxes, bird of prey and stray dogs they are friendly and eager for attention from us and the livestock but leery of strangers if not properly introduced by their owners. Bear and chief are two of our maremma pups who live on a 55 acre ranch in texas, where they guard 300 free range chickens and a small herd of cows for dave and susan. Pups need a “holding” area where they can sleep, eat, find shelter and be when not supervised. this area should have an enclosure where the puppy can stay and be warm or cool. Our pups will be placed in working homes and we select the home we feel will be the best match for each puppy after getting to know them and their personalities over the first 3 months of their lives.
