Community honors fallen service members at heroes house, which provides affordable housing for veterans. Helping heroes usa is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting veterans, first responders, and their families through connection, education, and suicide prevention. Helping heroes helps cover eviction notices, past due utilities, rent, mortgage payments, home repairs, groceries and emergency assistance needs to qualified applicants. Helping heroes offers people the opportunity to continue their education. helping heroes does this through continuing education classes, scholarship opportunities, or veteran related workshops. This scenic piece of land has a long history of once being a tree farm and a boy scout campground. now it is a fertile landscape of towering trees, and bountiful wildlife with several scenic lakes – perfect for hunting, fishing, camping, nature walks, and endless outdoor activities for all ages!. Helping heroes serves about 300 local veterans and their families each year. they offer emergency shelter, transitional housing, various support services and a food pantry. these services are open to veterans in hancock, brooke, ohio, marshall and wetzel counties.
