The hearing voices network (hvn) usa is one of over 20 nationally based networks around the world joined by shared goals and values, incorporating a fundamental belief that there are many ways to understand the experience of hearing voices and other unusual or extreme experiences.

Hearing voices groups are not a treatment, and instead offer a space to talk and an offer of support. there are hundreds of hearing voices groups across the country. to find a group go to the hearing voices network website – hearing voices.org. Hearing voices groups become communities where people can find acceptance, belonging, purpose, and space to explore and learn about one’s self, their experiences and their connections with others and the world. One in ten people hear voices. voices, visions, or other unusual or extreme experiences may be unique, but they are not uncommon. the hearing voices support group is a place where people can share these experiences in an atmosphere of acceptance and respect. Hvn is a collaboration between experts by experience (voice hearers and family members) who work in partnership with experts by profession (academics, clinicians and activists) to question, critique, and reframe traditional biomedical understandings of voice hearing.
