Ruckus Unleashed R350 U 802 11ax Wifi 6 Indoor Wireless Access Point After pondering for potential alternative to my current home’s full unifi wifi setup (ref), i’ve concluded to try out ruckus. ubiquiti unifi is poster child of prosumer graded network gear. they have many features and system design that are otherwise limited to enterprise grade systems. Follow this detailed 2 part configuration guide for deploying enterprise grade home wi fi using ruckus aps and their free ruckus unleashed controller. The r650 is our mid range dual band, dual concurrent ap that supports six spatial streams (4x4:4 in 5ghz, 2x2:2 in 2.4ghz). the r650 supports peak data rates of up to 2974 mbps and efficiently manages up to 512 clients connections. Ruckus is great but the selection of aps which support unleashed is hit or miss. i’m not sure what’s out today, but when i looked at them 8 ish months back you were limited to models a year or two old.

The recent unifi product decisions have me starting to debate changing my wireless network here at home, and in searching around ruckus seems to keep bubbling to the top of alternatives. The ruckus r650 represents an evolution in access point (ap) technology it's not just a wi fi ap, it's a wireless technology hub. it's a 6 stream ap (4x4:4 in 5ghz, 2x2:2 in 2.4ghz) that comes with wi fi 6 (802.11ax) capable of delivering 2400mbps in 5ghz and 574mbps in 2.4ghz. In summary, although both unifi and ruckus unleashed are feature rich products especially if you are coming from the consumer gear, ruckus unleashed take the feature level entirely to the next level. Continuing from the part i, i am comparing ruckus unleashed mode, r 750 and unifi u6 pro multi access point setup for home use. this is time we are focusing on stability related factors.
