Governance Budapest Process It brings together the main donor states of the budapest process, the leading hosting countries for the working groups and the european commission. in addition, other participating states are invited upon request. On 11 12th november 2024, ministers, deputy ministers and senior officials from 50 countries and 13 international organisations convened in budapest and agreed to a joint vision of migration governance, endorsing a new ministerial declaration and call for action.

Governance Budapest Process Over the last almost 30 years, the budapest process (bp) has become recognised by its participating states as an excellent tool for identifying and addressing evolving migration challenges. In this process, the key benefits and characteristics of the budapest process should be considered as well as the need to find synergies and avoid overlaps with other relevant initiatives operating within the eurasian sphere. The budapest process is a consultative forum, which is constituted by more than fifty governments and ten international organizations, which aim at developing comprehensive and sustainable systems for regular migration. The budapest process navigated through several crises years, the so called “migration crisis” and other unforeseen difficult moments, such as the covid pandemic, the fall of the afghan government and the war in ukraine.

Governance Joomla Budapest Process The budapest process is a consultative forum, which is constituted by more than fifty governments and ten international organizations, which aim at developing comprehensive and sustainable systems for regular migration. The budapest process navigated through several crises years, the so called “migration crisis” and other unforeseen difficult moments, such as the covid pandemic, the fall of the afghan government and the war in ukraine. We mobilise people and resources to create, curate, make sense of and use knowledge to inform policymaking across europe. the budapest process is a consultative forum of more than 50 governments and 10 internationals exchanging information and best practices on a wide range of migration issues. Overall, strong support was expressed by all the budapest process member states to the draft texts as they aligned with their national priorities and reflected a balanced and holistic approach towards migration governance. A dedicated workstream on migration and displacement governance, covering asylum systems and durable solutions, positions unhcr as a key inter agency actor, with one of the main results groups focusing on international protection. The analysis identifies five key characteristics of the bp that contribute to its governance role: uniqueness, engagement, common purpose, projects, and knowledge exchange.
