Gm Ringway Stage 8 Walking the 187 mile gm ringway route, we take on stage 3 and 4. east didsbury to bramhall and bramhall to middlewood, but in reverse. more. Green in every way, all 20 stages of the varied and beautiful 200 mile (322 km) route are designed to be accessed by public transport. this section uses waterways and green spaces to trace an almost traffic free route from manchester city centre to the edge of the peak district.

Gm Ringway Stage 1 20 From bramhall, the gm ringway continues its journey along the lady brook, along the greater manchester boundary to middlewood. an old chimney, a lovely clock, an unexplained dovecot and a national trust park as seen on tv. But as i set off to complete stage 4 of the gm ringway, i wasn’t alone – and it made it a really nice hike! it also meant that we could park a car at each end of the trek and not have to wait for a train back to piccadilly – they’re only every 2 hours from middlewood at the end of the walk. This walk follows the pretty ladybrook valley via parks, riverside paths and beautiful bramall hall.
