Github Copilot Is Super Creepy
Github Copilot Github I tried out github copilot today for the first time. i find it very creepy, but also very powerful. is this the new tool that all programmers will be using for now on? or will it just get in. I think most ai implementations are usually good at getting a couple of things right but copilot can understand the entire context of my app and assuming i write a good comment, can come up with near perfect code for me.
Github Copilot Your Ai Pair Programmer Github Github copilot is one of the most discussed matters in programming universe nowadays and i've finally got my hands on it. during the time i've spent testing this awesome miracle i've thought about many things simultaneously and once i was thinking straight again i got frightened. A recent github copilot controversy has sparked widespread attention among developers on reddit. one user posted a thread titled “my new hobby: watching ai slowly drive microsoft employees insane”, poking fun at a series of cringe worthy pull requests (prs) submitted by microsoft’s agent in the repository. Ever wished you could clone yourself to handle all the boring coding tasks while you focus on the interesting problems? well, github just made that dream partially real. I've been using copilot for two months and found it useless and annoying in 90% of cases. the only thing that is okay is to propose variable names and write very small one liners.

After some more research, i found that copilot is based on gpt 3, which explains why it’s so good at writing actual text copy, besides generating code. I don't want a "copilot" that always tries to trick me into using code that's subtly different from what an actual human used to solve my problem. this is terrifying. Very useful, especially when writing many blocks of code quite similar to each other but with subtle differences. its now a critical part of my tool belt. it is so messed up.
