Getting Started In Video Rocketry Video rocketry has been around for some time, but until recently it cost hundreds of dollars and required building a rocket large enough to carry a full video camcorder aloft. also, to launch a rocket of that size usually required you to get at least a level 2 certification. In this series we're going to cover the basics of rocketry for absolute beginners.
Getting Started In Video Rocketry The idea: to install a small digital video camera in a rocket which can capture the entire flight. i was inspired by an article in the may june 2002 edition of sport rocketry entitled "getting started in video rocketry", and have always wanted to record a rocket in flight. So how did all this video rocketry stuff get started? ever since i flew an estes cineroc (movie camera rocket) back in the '70s i've wanted to return to rec. Here is a list of resources to help jumpstart those who are new to rocketry. this list is not intended to be exhaustive, but should be good enough to get just about anyone started on their rocketry journey. This course will walk you through the different stages of rocket preparation and, ultimately, launch and flight analysis. we hope you will enjoy the ride as we "take data to new heights"!.
