Getting involved as a volunteer in your community gives you an opportunity to help solve problems, make important social connections, and see your community as a living whole in which you are a vital participant. Projects include trail maintenance, educational prairie bed project, and habitat restoration. saturday mornings bring heavy traffic to the preserve so please plan accordingly as projects start promptly at 9am. volunteer parking is available by the maintenance barn and noted in the attached picture. We’ve broken down some of your options into five categories: feeding people, helping local students, helping the unhoused and formerly unhoused, making the city beautiful and livable, and helping. We create pathways for young people to reach their goals, from early childhood education to college and career success. we improve access to nutritious food and quality health education and services, so people have the resources they need to lead healthy lives.
