As a long time garmin wearable user i was excited to hike with the fenix 8, but after a few miles it was plain to see the watch wasn't fully bug tested. after many firmware updates the watch is much more stable and very accurate. in fact, i use this watch to document most of the trails on my guides. I use the fenix 6 and gpsmap 66i, often pour over my gpx tracks after a hike, and do a fair amount of tinkering with my settings. so while i'm not testing this in a lab, i am constantly observing and evaluating gps performance.
