Binary Clock Hackaday Io I designed this to be a protocol project kids (probably middle schoolers or high schoolers) could follow to learn soldering and programming. there are a lot of micro:bit kits available, but they lack the ability to teach kids to make their own projects and largely run like copy and paste projects. this project includes stls to print the housing and gerber files to manufacture the circuit board. This project includes stls to print the housing and gerber files to manufacture the circuit board. other than than the ws2812b 2020 leds, the project uses easy to solder through hole components. i programmed the clock in makecode, but it should work with any language compatible with micro:bit.

Binary Clock Hackaday Io This project (actually two related projects), uses the microbit and a rtc to construct a binary clock using the microbit display and also an add on larger display that can be mounted on a table, shelf or wall. in addition an audible alarm function is included. Using a microbit and an rtc to create an binary clock with 2 display options. the microbit will fit into the socket in two orientations, facing the main part of the rtc of facing away. The lid will have a cut out for the microbit connector and the required switches, in addition any text will be printed directly on the lid and screw holes will align with the base pillars.

This will load the time in the rtc, which will save the time if the clock is unplugged. then, remove the date time setting blocks and re upload the code. if you do not do that, the date and time will be reset whenever the clock is turned on. the clock should now run when plugged in and the switch is turned on. Utilising a microbit and a rtc to create a binary clock with alarm option housed in a 3d printed box with resin inlay text. find this and other hardware projects on hackster.io. Made with ️ in microsoft makecode for micro:bit. This project includes the code and related files to make a binary clock with a micro:bit. versions 1 and 2 will work with these. the makecode works by taking the time from the rtc module (see below for the part) and then displaying it via the neopixel library.
