Lake Siskiyou Discover Siskiyou May 15, 2020i completed a full lap at lake siskiyou in mt. shasta, ca. this is a 7 mile multi use bi directional trail. i went on a friday afternoon and saw. Welcome to lake siskiyou camp resort, located on the southwest side of lake siskiyou, with panoramic views of mount shasta and the shasta trinity national forest.

Lake Siskiyou Discover Siskiyou The lake siskiyou trail follows the shore of a gorgeous reservoir with easily accessible views of mt shasta and mt eddy and frequent opportunities to swim, fish, and bike. It is considered easy and takes an average of two and half hours to complete walking. the trail is open year round, however the bridges where the sacramento river enters the lake are typically removed for winter in october and reinstalled in may or june, cutting off the loop during that time. Beginning at the parking lot across from the tennis courts of the mt. shasta resort, go right onto a dirt path with a slow downhill grade. the trail will lead you across a stream and wrap around to the opposite side. the trail starts to climb as you approach the lake. We parked in the parking lot for the chalet loop trail and headed north, past the entrance. the beginning of the trail is paved and runs along the road so we heard a few cars, but we could also hear rushing water. as we walked along, the sound of the cars faded away and the river drew near.

The trail mixes peaceful lakeside stretches with quiet wooded paths, surrounded by fall colors, towering pines, and snow capped peaks framing lake siskiyou. i took a few detours down to the shoreline just to soak in the views.
