In this unit, students will explore different types of fractals. this unit contains seven different activities. the first three activities emphasize the self similarity property of fractals, whereas the rest will make students explore the fractals' fractional (non integer) dimensions.

Fractal Geometry Artofit In this book, we study fractals as they arise in pure mathematics, focusing on the computational aspects of the subject. figure 1.1 suggests the flavor of the subject. while different in appearance, these objects all have features in common with most of the objects considered in this book. Fractal geometry is defined as a branch of mathematics that studies irregular or fragmented geometric structures that exhibit self similarity at different scales, allowing for a more detailed description of spatially nonuniform phenomena in nature. This paper aims to study the geometry of such fractals through the lens of the notion of dimension. in the first part of the paper, we shall introduce some basic terminology and results which will be useful for our purposes later.
