Forest Research Institute Inphd The forest research institute (fri) is one of the 11 institutes of the general directorate of agricultural research of elgo dimitra. it was founded in 1961 with its headquarters in loutra thermi (municipality of thermi) in the prefecture of thessaloniki. In 1989 the institute was integrated into national agricultural research foundation (nagref) under the same official title. fri brings together many disciplines to develop a better understanding of forests, rangelands and environment and society's interactions and impacts on it.
