Our connecting stories campaign is an arts council england funded project to address the literacy attainment gap across 14 of our hub areas and increase children and young people’s access to literary experiences and books in communities most in need of support.
Feats Connecting Remote Teams Firmly aligning with let’s create and the principles of creative people and places, our locally based teams have worked with communities, volunteers and partners in delivering a range of longer term and one off projects which in combination have engaged over 190,000 people in two years. Over the last few months, we’ve gathered, grown, and witnessed powerful transformations, through shared experiences, open conversations, and bold steps toward financial empowerment, leadership development, and career growth. Connecting stories is a fun team building activity and get to know you game that is all about finding common experiences or themes between people. this activity works best in small groups of 6 8 people.
Feats Connecting A Brighter Future Over the last few months, we’ve gathered, grown, and witnessed powerful transformations, through shared experiences, open conversations, and bold steps toward financial empowerment, leadership development, and career growth. Connecting stories is a fun team building activity and get to know you game that is all about finding common experiences or themes between people. this activity works best in small groups of 6 8 people. Connecting stories is a fun and engaging icebreaker activity that encourages small groups to find common experiences or themes between people. the purpose of this game is to create a chain of mini stories, where each person shares a related memory or experience based on the previous story. Working across 14 communities in need of support, connecting stories aims to address the literacy attainment gap and increase children and young people’s access to literary experiences and books, alongside their families. the campaign launched in december 2020 and reached more than 200,000 people. Launched in december 2020 and working closely with the communities themselves, connecting stories has engaged with over 180,000 people through locally designed literacy activities and over 500,000 young people have taken part in virtual author sessions, draw a longs and competitions. A major area of growth among our literacy champions during connecting stories two has been youth literacy champions young people (mostly aged16 21, but some younger) who are taking on leadership roles to help promote literacy.
