Far cry 4's stunning himalayan setting, refined gameplay, and memorable characters make it a worthy successor to far cry 3, even if it feels like an addon expansion to fc3.

The bottom line far cry 4 trades tropical islands for mountains, but otherwise, it offers pretty much the same great shooter experience as its predecessor. Far cry 3 and 6 try to nail this feeling of guerilla warfare in an exotic landscape, but imo it's far cry 4 that truly nails it. the himalayas in the background, the vibes and the architecture all contribute to this great feeling of immersion. Far cry 4 capitalizes on every available strength to make it an amazing open world for first person action and adventure, while failing repeatedly in creating enjoyable characters within it .

If anything, far cry 4 didn’t need a ‘traditional’ story: most of its highlights are told through player action, not cutscenes. but it does feature an interesting tale, albeit a rather basic.
