Fairwork Principle Changes Framework Our ratings are based on five principles that digital labour platforms should ensure in order to be considered to be offering basic minimum standards of fairness. we evaluate platforms annually against these principles to show not only what the platform economy is today, but also what it could be. Part 3 describes the rationale and methodology of the fairwork project and how we derived, applied and refined the five main principles of decent work (i.e. fair pay; fair conditions; fair contracts; fair management; and fair representation) constituting the main criteria of our research. Against this backdrop, the fairwork project developed five principles for fair work in the platform economy: fair pay, fair conditions, fair contracts, fair management, fair representation. Fairwork's field research across india and south africa finds challenges for workers across a range of issues which form the basis for a set of decent work principles on: pay, conditions, contracts, management, and representation.
