Prompted by a lack of empirical data substantiating such claims, and the roll out of an institution wide approach to wil at an australian university, this study was initiated to collect data on the amount of work and types of tasks involved in teaching, administering and supporting wil courses. To exemplify the range of employability and work integrated learning practices, the guide includes 11 short global case studies. these span multiple disciplines and stages of learning at course, programme and institutional levels. Work integrated learning (wil) is an educational practice that intentionally integrates academic study in the workplace or a simulated work environment. students reinforce their learning outcomes and academic theories through practical applications that are relevant to industry or community partners' needs.
