Currently, esf’s thermal energy network is powered by steam distribution through a looped system of underground pipes. the clean energy master plan, co funded by nyserda, proposes a decarbonized thermal energy network that could help esf decrease its greenhouse gas emissions by over 40%. The sustainable enterprise partnership (sep) is a collaboration among syracuse university’s whitman school of management and college of engineering and computer science, suny esf and the syracuse center of excellence in environmental and energy systems.
