Esa Cold Atom Interferometry Experiment
Esa Cold Atom Interferometry Experiment The image shows an experiment where six laser beams cool and trap atoms before sending the cold atom cloud into the atom interferometer. the laser beam then shines the atoms to measure the gravity field they have experimented. Here, williams et al., report on a series of pathfinding experiments exploring the first quantum sensor using atom interferometry in space.
Esa Cold Atom Interferometry Experiment This article details the design of the cal atom interferometer upgrade and the first pi led experiments utilizing matter wave interferometry with ultracold 87 rb gases in orbit. We report on a series of seminal experiments in which cal investigators performed pathfinding investigations with single species 87 rb becs to mature atom interferometry and quantum sensing on an earth orbiting platform. The cold atom lab (cal) is a multi user facility that allows the first study of ultracold quantum gases and atom interferometers in the microgravity environment of the international space station (iss). Nasa’s cold atom lab (cal) operates onboard the international space station as a multi user facility for fundamental studies of ultracold atoms and to mature space based quantum technologies .

Nasa's cold atom lab (cal) operates onboard the international space station as a multi user facility for fundamental studies of ultracold atoms and to mature space based quantum technologies. we report on pathfinding experiments utilizing ultracold 87 rb atoms in the cal ai. Researchers have successfully conducted pathfinder experiments. they could measure vibrations of the iss using a three pulse mach–zehnder interferometer on board cal facility. this was first time a quantum sensor was used in space to detect changes in immediate surrounding. In nonlinear optics, i study photorefractive systems for measurement and information processing, especially self organized information processing. our group is currently investigating acoustic and rf antenna array signal processing and sensing of chemical vapors. In their study, the researchers' updated laser system was implemented onto a ground based atomic sensor at lne syrte. this enabled them to prove that their prototype was ready to carry out real experiments measuring the subtle variations in the earth's gravitational field using matter wave interferometry techniques.
