This visual design guide is anchored around the merging of a neuro science informed framework, enriched environments, and the collaborative for academic, social, and emotional learning framework. We are actively seeking sponsors that want to join in on our pursuit of elevating the k12 school design industry to improve the lives of our teachers and students. Specifically, this guide addresses system factors that affect the enriched environments offer therapeutic challenge, complementing universal designs that emphasize accessibility through minimal environmental challenge. In this review, we will discuss how enriched environments are thought to affect typically developing animals and humans, will briefly summarize the literature on ndd animal models, and then will evaluate how enriched environments are currently being used in the treatment of ndds.
