To conduct this research, we adopted the systematic literature review approach, a methodology that aims to collect, select and synthesize in a rigorous and reproducible manner the knowledge produced on multidisciplinary integration in engineering. To do justice to the complex situation of factors and considerations related to interdisciplinarity in curricula and courses in higher engineering education, this literature review intends to synthesize existing research using the perspectives of vision, teaching, and support. This book contains research papers that were accepted for presentation at the 18th international conference on interdisciplinarity in engineering—inter eng 2024, which was held on 3–4 october 2024, in the city of targu mures, romania. This review outlines a strategic framework for fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, emphasizing its role in improving project outcomes, enhancing innovation, and ensuring sustainable development.
