In this context, vtmh has identified and introduced community engagement as one of the key strategies of culturally responsive practice for all mental health services (mcdonough et al., 2021). We have since undertaken 10 consultations with diverse groups of people including community members, community engagement workers, mental health clinicians and other work people with diverse lived experience. the questionnaires presented to these groups were co designed by the advisory group. The video below builds on the notions of community discussed in this module, and also begins to introduce the concept of community engagement and some important ideas to keep in mind when working with communities.
