Aids Institute Logo On june 29, 2014, new york state announced a three point plan to move us closer to the end of the aids epidemic in new york state. the goal is to achieve the first ever decrease in hiv prevalence in new york state by the end of 2020. We provide evidence suggesting that new york state is on track to end aids as an epidemic by the end of 2020. as of 2017, 76% of progress toward our primary ete target had been achieved. However, the capacity of doctors and public health officials to combat and control the hiv aids epidemic has changed dramatically in recent years. reducing the incidence of hiv infections to below epidemic proportions is now an attainable goal. We track the official ete metrics and curate and visualize hiv related data from various sources to present a comprehensive and interactive dashboard experience for all ete stakeholders.

Ending The Aids Epidemic Once And For All New York Health Foundation However, the capacity of doctors and public health officials to combat and control the hiv aids epidemic has changed dramatically in recent years. reducing the incidence of hiv infections to below epidemic proportions is now an attainable goal. We have made significant progress implementing the 2015 ending the epidemic (ete) blueprint recommendations developed collaboratively by hiv community members, providers, advocates, and new york state and local public health authorities. The goal is to reduce the number of new hiv infections to just 750 (from an estimated 3,000) by the end of 2022 and achieve the first ever decrease in hiv prevalence in new york state. The two day gathering brought together community advocates, healthcare professionals, and state and city leaders to commemorate the history of hiv aids while focusing on collaborative efforts to end the epidemic in new york state. The ending the epidemic (ete) dashboard measures, tracks and disseminates actionable information on progress towards achieving new york state’s ending the aids epidemic initiative’s goals.
