This chapter first reviews the roles of temperament and emotional arousability in angry and aggressive behaviors, and then summarizes the role of emotional factors on social cognitive processes related to children’s anger and aggression. Addressing aggressive behavior early can significantly improve long term outcomes – giving children the opportunity to learn healthier coping mechanisms, develop emotional regulation skills, and build more constructive relationships with those around them.
