Elementary School Programs Engineering Outreach Discover, explore and create with our wide mix of in person and virtual stem elementary school programs for students in grades 1–8. Engineering education outreach programs play a crucial role in promoting stem fields by inspiring and engaging students in various engineering disciplines. these programs aim to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and cultivate problem solving skills among young learners. The engineering is elementary (r) (eie) project aims to foster engineering and technological literacy among children. eie has created a research based, standards driven, and classroom tested curriculum that integrates engineering and technology concepts and skills with elementary science topics. Kathleen helps to develop engineering experiences for students from elementary to high school, ensuring alignment to state education standards and use of appropriate pedagogy and managing related logistics. We aim to provide elementary students with exposure to the world of engineering through interactive activities and design experiences, as well as sustained mentorship with undergraduate engineering students. To date the program has reached over 20,000 youth in its camps, and have exposed countless others through school workshops and community involvement. a question that often arises in this program is how to define and measure success and what metrics to use.
