Electrolyser Technologies Finh2 Finh 2 project focuses especially on the value chains for hydrogen produced by water electrolysers, powered by renewable electricity. one goal of the project is to find the most appealing options from the finnish perspective. Aalto university’s school of chemical engineering is a member of finh2, a cooperative finnish project looking to produce more efficient and alternative electrolyser solutions and hydrogen technologies with the aim of improving finland’s competitiveness in the hydrogen sphere.

Electrolyser Technologies Finh2 Finland’s export potential in electrolysis technology is significant, says antti arasto, who leads hydrogen research at vtt. the finh2 research project provides finnish companies with information and experience on the suitability of their products for hydrogen production and hydrogen business. Three year finh2 research is creating radical technological innovations in electrolysis technology. please find more information: press release by vtt. finh2 hydrogen is a significant clean hydrogen research project. sh teksor is involved in the extensive cooperation project. Our target is to significantly improve finland’s know how and competitiveness in electrolysis and hydrogen technology and create a networked research and development platform. This technology is appealing on the basis of cost, as most fuel cells use non noble metals and fast electrokinetics in the alkaline medium. furthermore, the absence of the liquid electrolyte (aqueous koh) prevents electrode weeping and corrosion.

Key part of the work is the finnish hydrogen know how development project finh2, which involves aalto university, vtt and lut – and abb as a driving force. professor tanja kallio from the department of chemistry and materials science is in the forefront of boosting the hydrogen revolution. Finh 2 project will generate novel, sector coupled electrolyzer solutions that will provide a competitive advantage for the finnish industry, leading to new investments and increased business in the international markets for finnish companies. Finh2 project will significantly improve finland’s know how and competitiveness in electrolysis and hydrogen technology and create a networked r&d platform. hydrogen business is increasing rapidly in eu and globally, and finnish companies are figuring out their roles in this market. In finh 2, pem and alkaline electrolysis technology will be developed and optimized for sector coupling, i.e. integrating hydrogen production with heat, oxygen, and grid support markets. this will increase revenue and make electrolyzer plant more profitable and accelerate market penetration.
