What is the upper willamette stewardship network? after two years of exploratory meetings, executive directors from four watershed councils, a land trust, and a conservation nonprofit launched the upper willamette stewardship network (uwsn) in 2018.

Education Upper Willamette Stewardship Network Born from the partnerships of the upper willamette stewardship network (uwsn), formed in 2018 to leverage resources and coordinate solutions to the issues facing the upper willamette, the program is designed to support teachers and expand regional access to enriching and nimble outdoor education programs. In recent years, these non profits teamed up with other conservation non profits forming the upper willamette stewardship network (uwsn), to work together with communities to care for land and water in the upper willamette basin through programs, such as youth education. Public policies that prioritize and invest in conservation, stewardship, and community access to natural resources. a strong, collaborative, well resourced network of organizations, tribal nations, and agencies working together to advance this shared vision. The program is housed at the mfwwc and exists through collaboration with partner organizations in the upper willamette stewardship network. this collaborative approach has allowed us to provide unique, hands on learning activities for students across the watersheds and focus on place based learning.

This position will work to build relationships and coordinate partnership opportunities with appropriate tribal government staff, the eugene water and electric board (eweb) and the upper willamette stewardship network. Wesd, in partnership with oregon’s school safety & prevention specialist team, earned a special certification to train others in the oregon model of behavior safety assessment. The upper willamette stewardship network's regional education program has made huge strides in the last three years, and coordinating hands on, immersive field trips to over 4,500 lane. As part of the upper willamette stewardship network, working lands helps farmers and landowners navigate government and private resources to improve their use of natural resources while enhancing their own farming goals.
