Eames Drums Jedistar Eames drum company was founded in 1950 when ralph g. eames purchased the drum making equipment that had been used since 1890 by the george b. stone & son drum company. Through skilled workmanship and the use of high quality materials, mr. eames became a master drum maker, thereby upholding the fine tradition of his predecessor. today i am still crafting each drum shell by hand in this new england tradition.
Drums Percussion Jedistar It's got gretsch hardware on it and it's finished like your typical walnut finish gretsch drum, so it looks like a gretsch, but obviously not up close. it's finished in poly. His kit is a 1986 eames “natural tone” drum kit, which are 100% birch shells made by legendary craftsman joe macsweeney. the sizes of this set up are a 9×10 mounted tom, a 15×15 floor tom, and a14x20 bass drum. Design your own instrument from the following ply lines. 6 ply (1 4") light weight thin shell with good acoustical resonance and high end attack. 9 ply (3 8") mid range shell with controlled or centered resonance, round tone and wide tuning range. ideal for close miking. Rescued a vintage eames kit abandoned in a moldy shed. paid what amounted to a case of beer for it. hardware is in rough shape but the shells seem good. hard to tell if it’s 9 or 12 ply birch. shells are surprisingly heavy. it has a couple of broken lugs on the kick (2” spacing).
