Dumb Bots R Factorio I understand the argument of computation power, but i wish the game was giving an option to the player to decide themselves whether they want smart bots or regular dumb bots. if you just have a relatively small base then having smarter bots probably won't hurt your ups. Originally posted by Нагризолич: bots are ups efficient, that's why they do that. yes, it is good that bots are stupid, but roboports could be improved so that things like this doesn't happen. also maybe bots could be allowed to charge at any roboport, not just those in their network.

Bro Bots R So Dumb That They Reply 2 Another Fellow Bot рџ ђ R Kreekcraft The last fff was so good i hate bots now since i read the last fff i notice more how dumb the bots are sometimes. don't get me wrong, we all knew they were kind of dumb. but now we know exactly why they are dumb, exaxtly how they would (and will) be smarter, and i can't unsee it. Bots have none of that, as they're very naive direct point to point trips that don't have to worry about e.g. collision or congestion. yet with all their additional logic involved, trains are still considered more efficient than bots because of how much stuff a single train can move at once. Bots are great in the main base (which shouldn't be too big) and individual networks in some outposts. but no bot network should be big and especially you should never have concave networks or networks with holes. Even if the power usage is recalculated every single tick, the ratio remains the same, and full load recharging bots should be unable to drain the port, even from a starting point of zero.

There is no complicated logic for the bots. they fly in a straight line from source to destination. when they run out of power, they fly in a straight line to the nearest roboport. if some went where you wanted and others did not, then some started in a slightly different place and you got unlucky. there is nothing deeper to it. Bots can be used for doing the whole factory work like transporting goods from machine a to machine b, but that has it's limits. when you want to move 1000 items a minute over long distances, you probably want to use belts or trains. Factorio isn't a game that you beat once like wow i made a rocket i win, it's a sandbox that's fun to learn and the bots can only get you so far. eventually you're going to be using the trains and circuits because it's the fun of the game. It has been a problem for a long time, the robots are pretty dumb when it comes to pathfinding, and try to fly over areas that have no logistic network coverage.
