One of our school’s recipient’s of rotary’s starfish pack program is a grade 2 girl who lives with her widowed mother. the young girl’s mother has gone without many of the basics that most of us take for granted.

A: yes! each location collects its donations separately. find your location here (each location will have instructions on how and where to make a financial donation). your donation will go directly to feeding children over the weekend in that specific city. money is not shared between the locations unless there has been a specific request. These incredible volunteers came together to pack bags of nutritious food for the starfish backpack program, helping ensure that children have food on the table when school is out and support when families need it most. each bag packed is more than just groceries — it’s a reminder to a child that they are cared for, supported, and not alone. Our club funded the purchase of ten backpacks. each week volunteers packed two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and healthy snacks into each backpack with food for the weekend and delivered the backpacks to an elementary school for the remainder of the school year. As of january 2026, the north delta rotary starfish pack program is providing over 300 backpacks per week to 14 elementary schools, giving nutritious food for the weekend to over 500 children and their families. these meals allow the students to return to school on monday morning, ready to learn.
